About Tony Peacock
Tony Peacock is an Australian who moved to South Africa, married a South African, and made this country his home. He grew up in Brisbane in a traditional Church of England family—attending Sunday school, studying the catechism, serving as an altar boy. His father sang in the choir. They were a religious family.
But that didn't protect him from addiction.
The Struggle with Addiction
A neighbor introduced Tony to marijuana, and he started traveling around Australia, chasing drugs and alcohol wherever he could find them. It got worse and worse. He had no confidence in his ability to create a future. He was always looking somewhere else for answers: tarot card readers asking "What's going to happen to me?", clairvoyants asking "Is anything good going to happen?", astrology, numerology—desperately hoping someone could tell him he'd be okay.
He tried everything while still drinking and using drugs.
The Turning Point
Then at 25, Tony discovered Dianetics and Scientology. That's when everything changed. Over the past 32 years, Tony hasn't just overcome his addictions—he's built a life of purpose and contribution. He stopped looking outside himself for answers and became causative over his own life.
This personal transformation is what drives his mission today: to help South African families and drug addicts find real solutions that actually work.
Why RehabNews.co.za?
Tony created RehabNews.co.za because he knows firsthand what it's like to be trapped in addiction. He knows the desperation families feel when watching someone they love destroy themselves with drugs. And he knows that drug-free recovery is possible—because he lived it.
Unlike many addiction websites run by pharmaceutical companies or medical institutions with commercial interests, Tony's only motivation is to share what actually works. He doesn't profit from treatment referrals. He doesn't sell medications. His goal is simple: help families find effective, drug-free treatment options that lead to lasting recovery.
The South African Mission
Tony believes deeply in L. Ron Hubbard's 1960 prophecy that Southern Africa will become the next great civilization. After serving 12 years as Church staff in Australia, he moved to South Africa in 2022 to be part of that vision. Since arriving, he's invested significantly in programs that help capable people become even more capable.
His mission is to help the able become more able. This includes helping those trapped in addiction break free and reclaim their potential to contribute to their families and communities.
Research and Advocacy
Tony continues researching addiction treatment solutions available to South Africans. His work focuses on:
- Drug-free treatment options - Programs that don't use methadone, Suboxone, or substitute drugs
- Comparative effectiveness - Analyzing which approaches produce lasting recovery vs. temporary symptom management
- South African context - Understanding the unique challenges facing South African families dealing with addiction
- Evidence-based information - Providing families with accurate, well-researched content to make informed decisions
Humanitarian Work
As a dedicated humanitarian and philanthropist, Tony has made significant contributions to mental health initiatives in South Africa. He actively supports the expansion of effective treatment services throughout the country, with a particular focus on making proven solutions accessible to communities that need them most.
As a member of the International Association of Scientologists (IAS), Tony works alongside a global network of humanitarians dedicated to improving conditions for people worldwide. His work in South Africa reflects a deep conviction that effective technology can transform lives and communities.
Tony is also a General Member of CCHR South Africa (Citizens Commission on Human Rights), a mental health watchdog organization dedicated to investigating and exposing psychiatric violations of human rights. Through CCHR, he actively works to protect South Africans from harmful psychiatric practices while advocating for safe, effective solutions.

A Message to Families
If you're reading this, you or someone you love is likely struggling with addiction. Tony wants you to know: recovery is possible. He's living proof. Thousands of others are living proof.
Don't settle for programs that trade one drug for another. Don't accept that your loved one will be dependent on medications forever. Don't believe that addiction is a "chronic disease" requiring lifelong management.
True freedom is possible. Drug-free recovery works. Your family can be whole again.
Other Projects
Tony also runs HelpAnxiety.co.za, a research project examining mental health treatment options available to South Africans. Both websites share the same mission: helping South Africans find what actually works.
